With the threat of 50 seaters going away, why are they bringing them back with a vengeance?!

In training, are all pilots trained on both the 200 and 900 or only the one your bid award gives you? If you bid to the other plane, is there a differences class of some kind?

What are reserve rules like?

Do current 121 pilots do a sim at the interview?

Why are 200's coming back? Nobody else wants to operate them for anywhere close to what Delta wants to pay (and under Delta's terms) And being owned by Delta, we have no say in it. Here they can come (and once again go) on Delta's whim without any contractual penalty.

You are trained on the model that you are awarded, if you change to the other model, you get a differences course. You won't be flying both types on the same trip.

Reserve is tolerable if you live in base ( in fact some that live in base pick it over bottom lines for flexability of what days off.. think weekends/ holidays), though there are some protections lineholders get that reserves don't, such as trip guarantee, protected start and end times for a trip, and trip trade rules... just some examples. If you don't live in base, don't plan on seeing home very much. (if you have more than 5 full days a month at home, you are lucky) since company policy is a reserve is only getting 11 days off a month no matter how many reserve lines are built, even if half the base is reserve and the other half is holding at least 17 days off a month.

As far as I've heard, no sim in the interview.

You're on guard, madam.

I understand what your saying. The company already opened up the vacancy bids for NY and they close by the end of the month. It'll be opened long before you finish training. They don't hire based on that though. They hire because they need pilots in general. Once your class starts then they'll figure out what's available and where they need you. A few classes back got all -900's in NY. You never know!

As is bases and planes? You don't find that out on day one. We didn't get our aircraft for a week, it was close to 3 weeks before we got our base. Other classes have been quicker so your milage may vary.
