The reason we don't want to follow the path NAI is following is because their whole operation is based on bending rules and skirting regulations to allow them to hire the cheapest labor with the most company friendly work rules. We DO NOT want the U.S. airlines to follow suit because it would destroy our profession as we know it. I don't think any of us want to work under an asian labor contract at a carrier that's based out of a different country to skirt U.S. regulations. It would negatively impact our pay, QOL, and job security. Being based in the USA, all the US airlines have to follow the same rules. When you allow a carrier to base it's airline in a country it doesn't even fly to, just to get around the rules that every other airline in this country has to follow, it hurts us all.
Valid points. Thanks for the information.

Because they fly a 787!!!! Come on now. I understand regional pay isn't where it needs to be but hopefully regional airlines won't even exist in 10 years. ALPA is trying to preserve high paying international jobs (and their feed).

We all led the race at one point or another.

why look for excuses and blame the poor contracts at the other regionals, you had a chance to change the trend at the time and stand for something and you caved in, allowing all other regional management to continue with the poor contracts. Maybe thanks to Endeavor pilots bending down forward, we are all still paying for it.

Regional pay is the highest it has ever been, NAI will put downward pressure on regional wages too eventually. ALPA is doing the right thing here despite what has happened in the past.

Very true. The judge turned down the first proposal and then the pilot group voted it in. I don't have anamosity toward my pilot group though. A lot simply can't move on for one reason or another. We don't control scope so for that reason they can and will continue the whip. The pilot shortage complicates matters though.
