This is because the company believes the Upgrade time will be closer to 24 months than it currently is.
Will new hires not have an SSP?

"Pilots who are hired after July 2015 will be eligible for a separate guaranteed interview program at Delta. We anticipate that the company will announce the details of that program within the next few days."

As was noted ALL Endeavor pilots will be covered under a preferential Delta interview (SSP- Streamlined Selection Process). As I mentioned before, Delta is providing a lot support and money to Endeavor as a whole, with specific programs for pilots. I think it's the way regionals ought to run, save for being fully fledged mainline employees from top to bottom. And yes, I understand/respect that mainline Delta employees value their culture and want to vet potential new hires instead of have a flow.

Also, I'm can't think of a way that the Bloch award will really affect new hires directly or indirectly...maybe that is confusing to newbies. Thought I should clarify for all the job hunters out there.

As a 2011 hire the only thing from the Bloch award that could affect me is the quotas. Well by the time I probably could upgrade those will be gone. In other words, the Bloch award should mean nothing to newbs.

In summary, 22 CR9 captain slots will be awarded without Bloch provisions, i.e. given in seniority order...

and 18 CRJ-200 Captain slots will be awarded at a ratio of 4.something:1, Pinnacle over Mesaba.

Please correct me if I am wrong and I am not sure about downgraded Colgan reinstatement rights trumping the aforementioned award.
