Concerning DECS and the 175, they were awarded the 175 in ORD as of the last bid. I would expect more will switch with the current bid as the fleet is growing.

To be clear, they bid this after being awarded and being trained on another aircraft. No DEC has been awarded the 175 out of initial training.

And now that they're not being "displaced," and instead "bidding" for their aircraft, the two year seat lock may be in effect. This may not apply to the pilots bidding the 175 now, but I would use caution, as it may apply to DECs hired now, as we have a vacancy bid LOA covering this.

Yes early DECS are not seat locked as they were displaced from FO to Captain status. I believe you are correct as the LOA changed that.

Late DECs aren't seat locked either.

They are using the vacancy bid to select a status. I don't know why they wouldn't be seat locked.

A few DECs from my class got awarded 145 after a month. They didn't even finish their fed rides on the CRJ. This was a few months ago.

Default Bon Voyage...

If I am looking at the seniority list correctly, and I believe I am... Only 1 DEC new hire in the last 2 months. Looks like the music has stopped, and the perma-airport standby has been found. The DEC ship has pulled up anchor and sailed.

I believe you are right. I see one in Feb 25 class and before that there were five in the Jan 28 class. There have been some reports of some other DECs in the “Class drop” thread, but the seniority list doesn’t support that.

1 DEC in 2/25 class. That's pretty much it. I think total of 8 hired in 2019.

Its almost as if my prophetic warnings are coming true, careful though you wouldn't want to "tell" anyone what to do.

I will once again say it, dont come here as a DEC unless you want any of the following.

1. Bottom of a Captain Seniority list for several years as all of our current FO's upgrade and continually keep you down.

2. Years of reserve, often the worst kind at airport standby.

3. Most likely not your aircraft of choice.

4. Excessive time away from home as a commuter.

If you like or want any of that, go for it, but then we need to factor in the new info.

1. Pretty much industry leading low pay.

2. Company that is hostile to its pilot group.

3. New hire flow times are well above 7 years.

4. Moving target over what the company will terminate you for.

So I am not "telling" any pilot what to do, but I would look long and hard and the reality of things before getting blinded by that large check. This company gives nothing away out of the goodness of its pilot group so imagine how bad it must be to offer such a large check.
