Only because it needs repeating so as to not get lost in the crowd, but DO NOT COME HERE AS A DEC RIGHT NOW!

Your life will suck unless you are living in base and have NO hopes of getting off reserve for awhile, and by reserve I mean bottom of the list reserve. Airport standby for a couple of years reserve.

Its no longer worth it, the ship has sailed, you missed the wave.

Sorry to be so dramatic, but it really isn't worth it, even though that bonus check would look nice in your hand. If you are in class as one, turn that bonus back in and find somewhere else to go unless again, you meet the above criteria.

The living in base thing is very likely ORD. So that is what to EXPECT, but this is Envoy. Something could change that.

Post like this are pathetic. Never tell anyone what to do with their career choice. I didn’t even take the time to finish reading the post because it’s pure garbage when you start off in all CAPS telling people what to do.

Are you a CA or an FO here?

Perhaps if kept reading you would see that I laid out my reasons. Was anything I said wrong?

Secondly even the union strongly urged on the last P2P call to warn friends who may be considering coming here as a dec. they essentially said the exact same thing I did. Glad the world isn’t like you just blindly letting people walk into something that will in almost all circumstances suck.

As for the last bit, sure, might have come on strong but it’s only because the writing is on the wall and I would want someone looking out for me. DECs coming here or leaving here benefit me zero.

Because perspective is relevant, not just regurgitating what someone else tells you.

My perspective is just that, mine. I still don’t see how it matters which seat I’m in.

Nothing I said in my post is untrue or unrealistic based on the situation the company is currently in.

Here is a tip don’t tell people what to do with their career choices. Each person has their own reasons for the choices that they make.

Give it up. Some people want direct actionable information and others want a kinder, gentler approach. You do you and I do me, there is room for both. How about you take your own advice about not telling others what to do. Are you the resident morals and ethics member here? Do you speak for everyone?

I am not literally telling people what to do, as if I wield some super power, but I was trying to get their attention. People need to know what they are signing, what that bonus money really is. It’s a payoff for a miserable few years. It’s easy to get blindsided by that and I want to make sure as many potential people see that.

I will leave this here again, was there anything I said that wasn’t true based on our conpanies current situation?
