Default Scope issues

So with AA parking 155 of our 175 wide bodies and getting rid of the 75/76 and the 190, I would wager a bet that our scope clause will have a major impact on how much flying the Eagle jets continue to do. By getting rid of those planes the already very close scope limitations might be in trouble. APA will not give concessions on our scope clause.

Food for thought.

Yeah, it’s possible they park Envoy jets to meet scope. Probably 140/145s.

If they need to cull large RJs I think it’ll be CRJs, probably from Mesa.

Scope only applies to narrow bodies. So the 76 doesn’t really affect us. With the 75/190s I believe we’d have 15 months to comply, so hope it wouldn’t be a long term issue.

Only the 190 and 75 have effect on scope.

I don't know the specifics of the details but they had 15 months to comply with the 737 max situation which may have us parking a couple 140s earlier than planned (we were gradually parking them anyway). I'd assume the same applies here.

15 months. I hope things stabilize by then. In any case, if we can't put butts in seats, scope won't matter.

Nor should they. That would be the last thing we would want as regional pilots is more regional flying. This will be painful in the short term, but will pay dividends later. We really want less regional flying so there is more mainline flying to do, thus getting us out from under the thumb of the regional management groups.

Are you referring to my previous post? If so please explain why flying more at the regional level is a good thing in the long term?

Long term, if you can realistically get hired at mainline, losing flying to them at the regional level is a good thing.

That's not what's happening though. We're all losing flying, and a few anxious mainline guys are divebombing our boards to flex on the poors because it makes them feel better about their own financial situations
