Default Envoy Cadet program

With Envoy canceling new hire training and in cost saving mode, anyone know what the status of cadets in the program is? Are they considered employees under the bailout? Envoy going to keep paying them to fly until hiring resumes?

Call the recruiters. And know it can change as soon as you get off the phone.

strongly doubt that the pilots at envoy will take a furlough so you the cadet can keep getting paid.
y'all remember this when management comes for cost cutting, and they will.

The Envoy doesnt pay cadets, the flight school does.
Envoy pays cadet, flight school reimburses The envoy.

But there are, as I understood, other benefits like medical and vacation accrual that I can think of that still have a current or future cost associated with.

And I am NOT a cadet. I’m asking for the CURRENT pilot group, since the ‘Voy is squeezing us.

You become an Envoy employee day one. Employee number, benefits, sick time, etc. All but pilot seniority. When the time comes to cut costs on the employee side, you can bet that’ll be one of the first things to go.

Considering the ‘Voy IS cutting costs and those are not union protected, I’m surprised it hasn’t happened already. Maybe they are still protected by the bailout. And while recruiting isn’t a worry anytime soon, obviously going to hurt things when it happens.

Interestingly enough, United is still going through with their flight school program. Maybe minimal cost at this point?

I feel for the pilots in the 'AA Cadet Academy' loan program.

One of the reasons why I went to ATP flight school is the regional bonuses and like me many other.

if regionals cut the bonuses I really see a drastic drop in new pilots in the near future, right now to get to 1500 hours is getting harder and harder
