^^^ This.

Plenty of RTP guys would go back to helo’s on a lot more money and wait it out.

There are not that many rotor jobs out there, believe me, I have looked lol. I think that with now four regionals closed or closing and all the main line furloughs, any amount of open flying jobs are going to be, or already are, taken. I think this deal will only work well for those that already have a side gig they can live off of, or could live off of should they have the time to do it full time, people with another professional skill set or those that have a spouse who can carry they weight for a few years.

Either way, I am glad that the company is offering this, even though it is in the contract, as even one person taking it is one less furlough. I just wish they opened it up to other fleets and perhaps a shorter period of time as I would have really considered taking it.

You saw the part about the LOA that you can come back with a 30 day notice after 1 year, right?

that is exactly the target audience. Carve off the segment that can walk away at the drop of a hat at zero cost to the company.

You could have 2 kids in 5 years and put a lot of raising on them, then maybe even come back as an AA pilot depending on when you were hired here.

Can you imagine not flying for 5 years though?

What are you doing here? So many easier, higher paying jobs out there that'll have you home every night. I could understand flying for mainline when you don't enjoy it, but not a regional.

Really, not sure where you’re looking? I know metro is looking, there’s also plenty of fire jobs. Most rotary jobs aren’t advertised anyway.
