Also, completely unnecessary to let the CA and/or FO know you are non-revving on the flight. If you are jumpseating, then obviously you need to check in. Non-rev? I don’t care, please don’t check in with me up front.

I just think it’s courteous (pilot to pilot). Yes...every nonrev employee seems excessive.

Defeating the stigma
While we are on the subject...bringing candy/gifts for the crew? I feel like this is a FA/gate agent phenomenon. Commuters would go broke doing this on the regular

Envoy has the stigma of being cocky, for absolutely no reason. They also have a stigma of sliding airplanes off of runways in the Bahamas.
Being a "top tier" regional is like a top tier porta-john. Either way, you are pooping in a bucket, it smells terrible, and you can't wait to get out of it. Thought so. |

(Pre Rona of course) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro I always bring something for the gate agent when I'm listing at the gate for an OAL jumpseat, seems to help enormously and they're very appreciative. I've won over a JB gate agent at Kennedy so thoroughly with a fancy chocolate that he came out and found me in the boarding area a couple times to let me know what was really going on w/ their delay. Very nice guy, may have done it anyway.

Agree with one exception. IF you are on a jump seat listing, but get a seat in the back, I want to know. First - to know there was a jump seater I may have been unaware of, and second to know that the gate is doing their job to get you on. Why? I fly mostly the same city pairs. We all do. So If I know there are commuters to these cities, I will be aware. I always check if we are booked close to full to see if there are any jump seat listings. I want to get you on.

Wait, WHO do you fly for? Same city pairs? Unless you are very senior and choose to do the same day trips, this doesn’t apply to to many people.
