Nope. That $70K is to keep you at a WO as the golden carrot on the end of the stick. You “earn it” by sticking it out until the flow or you’re hired OTS.

Mistake on the part of AAG.

Yep, somebody was very short sighted thinking that an Envoy pilot wouldn’t have another job offer if they were going to AA.

Is there not a requirement to stay a certain amount of time for that $70k?

The short version is that an agreement in force at a WO can't define any of your working conditions at AA, as they're a different company, with a different CBA, and any agreement at your prior employer has no bearing on your life at AA. Any one who goes to AA, either flow or OTS, from a WO has satisfied the conditions of the bonus agreement and is free to do whatever they want once they're at AA.

We have a few at PSA who have done the exact same thing. Whatever MBA in DFW who thought up this plan had no idea how pilots really think.

Yeah, the whole thing has a bit of 'out of touch' for sure.

That said, I would have thought they would have structured it as a bonus at AA. Not a bonus from WO.

Not possible without buy in from APA, who clearly would not be interested in paying some new hires more than others, and AA isn’t interested in giving APA more bargaining leverage, because every ‘ask’ on the company’s part could involve APA countering with a bigger ask for themselves.

Epic fail by RN and his crony chief pilots. Forwarding out an entire email conversation between themselves where they joke about discipline. How does this bush league leadership team stay employed? Does Pedro exist or is he simply a hologram with a permanent Joker smile?

Oh no mgmt jokes at pilot expense? Get ready for some strongly worded fb posts and worthless emails from the union!

Not to worry, there is pizza and cake in both terminals, come by and have a slice.
