Any idea why only 10 in 4/22? I know its mostly if not all from the 3/7 orientation but usually they fill it to at least 20 using the front end of the 4/11 orientation. Did they give a reason?

EDIT: Nvm, I'm assuming you meant 10 got placed from 4/11 orientation into the 4/22 class. That makes sense.

 

When they fill Indoc classes, they may have some of the most junior people from a prior Orientation date and fill it by adding the most senior people from the the most recent Orientation date. They stagger class dates so they can get people all the way through simulator training without ideally having more than a week off at any point during training. Class sizes will vary depending on how many simulator slots are open in the near future.

In the recent April 6th vacancy bid, the most junior people awarded DFW FO, ORD FO, and MIA FO had March 2024 hire dates. The most junior person awarded PHX FO had a February 2024 hire date. The most junior person awarded MIA CA had an April 2023 hire date. The most junior person awarded PHX CA and ORD CA had a February 2024 hire date. The most junior person awarded DFW CA had a March 2024 hire date.

Envoy chose not to force upgrade any FOs to captain this time; they had enough volunteers. I would bet there are fewer captains jumping ship right now.

It looks like Envoy finally extended the bonus for pilots with 500-1,000 hours Part 121 time to June 30th. They may extend it again.

 

Next orientation is May 9th. It is full. They are currently filling slots for June 6th. You'll probably make that, or the assumed July 11th one. Make sure your current employer gets your PRIA back to Envoy ASAP. Word on the street is that they plan on being full steam ahead with hiring this year.

 

Hopefully it all goes well and i get the position. How hard is the interview?

Interview isn't bad. 30 minutes to an hour. I would definitely use the aviationinterviews.com interview gouge to prep for the interview. Plenty of people are denied due to a poor interview. In the interview, they generally ask questions quite quickly to see how you react under pressure.
