Our training went like this: Indoc the first week. FOM stuff then a test. Special procedures the following Mon/Tues (Fire extinguisher, how to open the doors, etc). Then home for the rest of the week to do systems CBTs. A few days of systems review in class, then the Knowledge Validation. FMS lab then about two weeks of Procedures Training, followed by the Procedures Validation. You do a line observation after that, then sims start. At some point we bid for our sim schedule (what time of day and which sim). 8 sims then a Maneuvers Validation and your LOE. After that it's IOE then you're sitting standby!

- Week 2: I was in the junior group so we did our emergency training on Monday and Tuesday of the following week. Then we got sent home to finish CBTs. You need to have CBTs done before Systems.
- Week 3: Systems followed by a Knowledge Validation on Thursday. Sometime during this week you will also be introduced to the FMS lab. You will also bid for sim slots during this period.
- Weeks 4 and 5: Procedures training followed by the procedures validation. After your PV you’ll get a few days off before sims.
- Weeks 6 and 7: Sims. First week will start on Saturday and go 6 days straight. You’ll get the Friday and the weekend off then come back for sims 7 and 8. Maneuvers Validation and LOE happen immediately after the last two sims unless you need extra training.
IOE takes about two trips if you have no hang ups. They schedule IOE immediately after you get your mandatory three days off after LOE. Overall I didn’t find it chaotic at all. Compared to what I’ve heard at some other regionals I thought things were very streamlined here. 99% of the instructors I had were solid and the folks in charge of the department want you to succeed. If you need extra work on something they will work with you. A lot of people in my class tried to go ahead and stressed themselves out for no reason. Just do what they say when they say.

- Week 1: Indoc. Death by PowerPoint as you go through the FOM. Ends with a validation exam on Friday. After week 1 they split our class in half. The more senior half did their emergency and security training the following Monday and Tuesday. The rest of us got a week off. If you get the week off, use that time wisely to do your CBTs.

I received a call myself yesterday. November 17th. I am a cadet, tho, and I interviewed last year, mid-July, with about 600TTHit my 1500 mid-August this year, the third week of August, went for a drug test and fingerprints. Last week, the ATP/CTP started, and the FAA written test was yesterday. Envoy called with the class date the same morning. So about 3-month' wait from the drug test.

Mosly CFIs, we have 4 military helo guys, 4 interntional pilots (1 guy has over 17,000hrs mostly in an airbus, he flew in Japan before moving here)
2 part 135 guys, 1 former FA turned CFI and then everyone else is a pure CFI 14/15 or so with 4 cadets. I'm 34 and I was 13/22 on the seniority list to start class with the 4 cadets getting the top 4 slots. Oldest guy is over 45 and the youngest is 21.
