Question about dress code in class.
I read the orientation documentation they provided, and it says: "Jeans or slacks"
I had assumed this was business casual. Do people really wear jeans to class or mostly slacks.

My preference is jeans but I don't want to appear less professional unless jeans is the norm.

As a general rule of thumb that will work at any airline, don't show up your first day in jeans regardless of what the paperwork says.

Dress nice your first day, and comfortable the rest of the days. Polo/collared shirt, no holes in the jeans, etc. and you’ll be just fine.

Until you're back for recurrent, I wouldn't wear jeans. Just me.

Dress for the job you want. You will be wearing slacks for the rest of your career, not reason not to start now. I would save the jeans for Fridays.

Some wear jeans. I didn’t. Instructors weren’t wearing jeans so why would I, was my thinking. Prob not a huge deal but it’s the little things, as they say.

Nothing wrong with jeans at Envoy or AA schoolhouse. Just make sure they are decent looking.

unlike people in training, instructors providing instruction actually cannot wear jeans.
Attending a class - jeans are not a problem.
Only caveat is if there's a chance you might need to jumpseat back home - then wear slacks.

Instructors are considered management. You are considered FNG.

We had guys get a slight nudge from management in our first week because they wore jeans. Nothing outright aggressive, but a stern "hey... let's try wearing something nicer tomorrow". For sims, guys are wearing jeans, but they're the minority and I wouldn't. Blend into the background, and make sure management doesn't know who you are. You waited a year for this shot, why risk it.
