Which is ecactly why most of the relatively few slots over the next year will go to present F/O's. Remember, Envoy is slated to SHRINK and that means displacements from smaller E-145's that displaced F/O's can bid. Envoy cannot remain its present size if they ate only upgrading half of the pilots projected to flow.

After they upgrade, more senior F/O's will get it on a freebie displacement. Sure, a few slots may go to new hires, but with only 100 F/O's or less out of a 2000 pilot shrinking airline running dusplacements along with projected upgrades, we're talking a handful of new-hires.

The Tide is Turning

Soon there will be announcements of additional block hours Envoy will be flying.

Over the next two months we will put up to 5 extra EMB's back into service from flyable storage. This is primarily due to contractor failure to be able to staff their airline, and that feed flying returning to Envoy.

Two additional EMB's will enter service in DFW this month, and up to 3 more next month. The monthly schedules have already been built, so I expect this flying will be dumped into open time as critical coverage premium.

As I have repeatedly stated. The new currency is staffing. Whomever has the staffing will get the flying. This is flying coming back to Envoy is returning from Mesa.

Look for more good news soon as well.

More correct indeed. On the whole, I would say that the majority of new-hires will be placed in the 175. That is where the growth is and as such, that is where the majority of new-hires will go. Simple math.

Envoy is not slated for "growth" by managements own admission. They are transferring aircraft to others and upgrqding half the pilots projected to flow. If one wants a faster upgrade and flow to AA, Piedmont is now out-advertising Envoy with 1.5 year upgrades and 4-5 year flow. PSA will undoubtedly soon come out with their own rosey projections that I'll bet beat Piedmont's leaving lowly Envoy in 3rd place in the fuzzy math sales race.

I believe you can pick the newest shiniest one!

If it was me, I would probably hold off for several months to come to Envoy until the 175s come on the property. That way you can be assured you have a chance to fly it without worrying about seat locks. Also you could come to PSA for six months then just leave and go to Envoy once the 175s show up.

PSA will likely just be stapled to the bottom of Americans seniority list instead of flows.

The tide ebbs and flows and will soon again recede back out to sea.

I heard this last Friday. From the sound of it, what's apparently happening now is AAG capitalizing on Envoy's TEMPORARY staffing surplus to give some breathing room to the too rapidly expanding PSA/Piedmont operations. By early next year, they will be caught up and most likely Envoy will be closer to being "right-sized" with another several hundred pilots gone and the temporary requirement of Envoy carrying PSA and Piedmont's water will no longer be necessary.

Enjoy it while it lasts.

Republics Bedford recently stated in a share holder meeting he is asking partners to reduce flying because of staffing issues.

No "American Eagle" operator will be favored status in the future. Doug doesn't operate that way. Right now, they are just managing their resources, which is what businessmen do. Dopey pilots frequently see that and think it's about them and some of them even try to convince even dopier ones it is. The dopiest of all, believe it.

The overall plan developed a almost a year ago is still very much in play.

I'm aware of that also.
This is 5 more planes into service requiring that many more upgrades as well. This is Eagle flying that was subbed out to Mesa, not Republic.

We have many more jets in flyable storage that we'll be happy to put back in service. More upgrades, and with our 6 year flow to AA;

It's a great time to be an Envoy pilot.

You're completely mistaken. They've said repeatedly they have over diversified and have too many providers. The consolidation will happen; we have the extra pilots. The new currency is not who's cheapest, it's who can actually fly it.
