You're ignorant. I'm not pining for the glory days here I'm trying to educate an audience. What our pilot group doesn't need is pilots making excuses for our company or telling new guys our schedules "aren't really that bad."

My advice to new guys looking at envoy and reading about the current state of our schedules..........if you decide to come here fight for something better not just good enough. Set the bar high. Don't settle.

not to **** you off. but, new hires and the majority of the current envoy pilots would not fight, stand up for anything that would cause them losing anything from the flow. they will eat dirt to keep flow and management knows this and the mec is complicit.

Some lines on the 175 have SIX trips, eleven days off (all 4-2-4-2) worth 75 hours.

I do not believe THAT to be true. Only a small few are mesmerized by the flow. This pilot group has stood up in unity. The problems are with ALPA national supporting MEC's that are counterproductive to the cause of improving quality of life issues for all fee for departure carriers.

Pilots at EaglVoy have always complained about schedules. What we have now is the worst it has been ever. I am cautiously optimistic that schedules will get a little better going forward. Schedules will never be what they were when Eagle was the primary fee for departure airline. As wholly owned airlines it would make sence to give us dibs on more productive schedules

Only guarantee we have is, crap schedules. No min. No rig. And since I've been here I've never heard this group or mec even talk about it. A min day would really help out, I'd rather have rigs and min day, but our mec wouldn't even know how to fight for that. Our mec doesn't do squat, the small gains we got as of late were because the company came to the MEC(to attract new hires, and a little retention). The mec then looks over material handed to them and says "we approve". Sam has done zero for the group, sad to say but the company has done more for this group then Sam has. Now don't twist those words, the company has done crap for us and they continue to beat the crap out of us. Just saying if we've had three gains they definitely didn't come from the MEC, they came from the company.

Majority of our terrible lines now are averaging around 80-100 hours TAFB (time away from base) per month MORE than we did 5-10 years ago. Somehow Also with less pay credit. Usually more work = more pay. Here over the last year it's more time away = less pay now.

Think about those extra hours. Most normal people work 40 hours per week. So we are literally gone an extra 2 weeks worth of work for free..

Our old lines pre bankruptcy (not that long ago) were a mix of 1 day trips, 2 day trips, 3 day trips, 4 day trips.. TAFB would be between about 220-300 hours away per month for trips with overnights and 320-330 per month for a HIGH time line worth like 89 hours. Now we have almost 100% 4 day trip schedules, no other options, and only worth 78 hours pay but 429 TAFB. Or 74 hours, 400+ TAFB. That is nearly unheard of TAFB at any domestic airline and absolutely ridiculous for the low pay credit. I have never seen schedules with over 350 TAFB until this year. Now you see a lot with over 400, it's insane how inefficient these trips are.

100% of everyone's focus here should be fixing these horrendous schedules and the broken reserve system.

Man, I'm considering Envoy vs. SkyWest. I appreciate all of the honest (sometimes heated) discussion. Sounds like I'd be just drilled as a reserve at Envoy, even though I'm kind of leaning that way. I do hate the idea of sitting 'ready' at the airport for hours and hours for the next few months.

Aviatrx 10-18-2016 05:54 AM

Ready reserve is optional unless you are called in from short call to cover the shift. Short call is 2hrs.
