Would it be better to ask for ORD CRJ or ORD 145 from a standpoint of QOL and reserve if I were to be hired at Envoy? Thanks all!

Face it, when people talk about reserve time at an airline, it supposed to be a measure of upward movement, since it is assumed that the junior people will be on reserve until their seniority enables them to hold a line. Here at envoy the lines are so awful that many, many people choose to be reserve rather than fly a line--and that despite our atrocious reserve rules and poor staffing! How do I know this? I am one of those people. I assume I will stay reserve until I flow, unless the lines greatly improve.

You must live local and be fairly senior. I can see bidding reserve to avoid 4 day trips until more day trip and 2 day lines come back.

I wonder if they are going to continue hiring more into ORD or if they are going to start focusing hiring into LGA.

Getting into LGA now will be a nice seniority bump for a new hire since about half the base was left unfilled after the FO vacancy. I'd expect LGA to stay junior on the 145, followed by ORD, then DFW.

Depending on the amount of movement we have, it shouldn't take much longer than finishing IOE to hold the base you want.

Well, the only thing that will help this is the new guys coming out of training. I don't think they will be able to get enough through IOE to make too much of a dent in these numbers.

I left for Endeavor earlier this year. The schedules were trash when I left and from what I hear on here and from someone still at Envoy, are even worse now if that's possible. Best move I ever made.

Curious why the lateral move, and not up to an LLC?

I'm brand new to 121 and have less than 2500 hours total. I went to a job fair for Spirit but wasn't competitive. I'm building hours over here and plan to hit the fairs again as soon my time gets up. My life is way better here than Envoy. Reserve and hard lines here blow away Envoy.
Schedulers are way nicer as well. Seemed they were really vindictive when they called you over at Envoy and enjoyed making your life miserable.

I'd say most schedulers are good people over here but there are a few that do seem to hate pilots and unfortunately those bad interactions are what will stand out. They are put in a tough position though to try to keep this airline operating with not enough bodies.

All true at the VOY. The manager in CS is very vindictive and seems to enjoy it.

Good luck.
