Smaller ENY means that those senior pilots that do not wish to flow are clogging up an even greater percentage of valuable left seats available to upgrades and flow. It is a serious issue that I have not seen directly addressed - unless you count making this place a pain in the @55 to work for and commute to in order to drive them out. It's worked on several senior pilots I know. "******* that, I quit", they said. And they did. But not enough to solve that elephant in the room if ENY continues to shrink.
There's a far easier way to deal with senior pilots. That is, create a situation that makes accepting flow a better deal for most. Consolidation (or not) coupled with a contractual alteration that places all captains on competitive 12th year scale will drive more to AA. Not all, but more. The rest are free to stay, but they'll be no more expensive then most and only 100-200 pilots. If you don't think the present MEC (you know.......the guys now making deals for themselves via end runs over to the E-175 ) will assist the company while claiming it is "the best of two less then ideal options", you're a poor student of history. You may or may not be, but many there are.

"Projected shrinkage" is like the male penis. It all depends on how the temperature of the water changes and that is an unpredictable variable. We know that "projections" at Envoy have a stronger history of inaccuracy vs. accuracy and a shrinking penis there is not condusive to satisfying the raging, lustful upgrade desires of future new-hires.

Sorry for the poetry, Envoy just brings it out in me.

Not necessary. Announce a MIA base, more shiny 175s and an extra $10 an hour pay rate* for the FO's and they will find the applicants they need.

*An actual increase in pay, no stupid bonus BS.

How about one out of those three? Or more accurately, 1.5 out of those three.

How many pilots from other Regionals orgasmically crave MIA ? How many find $10/hour ($6.50 after taxes or about $6K/year) an uncontrollable aphrodisiac ?

I think you're overestimating the attractiveness of your next sales approach.

Not necessarily. You can shrink another airline and give them preferential interviews. Many will take it, starting by the Jr guys, moving up as shrinkage happen.

It's what happened here in a way back in 2013.

I wonder if more jets and an MIA base alone will attract applicants... Money seems to be what people want these days. And AAG seems stingy with theirs.

It certainly won't hurt by offering more bases and planes if in fact that's what's going to happen. And as far as money is concerned, they might be a little late again, but with the new hire bonuses increased and retention program initiated it's a step in the right direction.

The .5 better not be a MIA satellite base. They need to open a PERMANENT base. They can take that unpredictable satellite base garbage they are drooling over and shuv it up their ***.
