From my POV, I don't see minimal $$$ like bonuses as enough of a carrot to get the necessary monthly numbers for the necessary period of time. Even more so, seeing is how Parker is a stickler for the "deal is a deal" mentality, I would think he'd consider contractual improvements to be wasted money since most Envoy pilots with anything more then 2-3 years seniority won't bail to anywhere they wouldn't anyway, improvements or not. More E-175's are coming as Envoy is slated to morph in that direction all along, but let's face it, E-175's are all over the place and most don't bat too much of an eye toward them unless they're working for a carrier starved of wing-mounted engines and or slats.

It will definitely be interesting to watch.

Give it time. They can't send us back to MIA full boar so soon after removing us from it. That is business 101 unfortunately. They made two mistakes. First, closing down envoy's MIA base. Second, having Republic be the airline that moved in.

They realized that mistake pretty much from the get go if it makes you feel better. But a basic principle of business is you don't reverse a decision too quickly, even if it seems like it was the wrong one. You give it some time so that variables are worked out.

My personal opinion is that MIA will be a full base sooner rather than later. The other news will be something you will like...and satellite bases will pale in comparison.
Is Dougie bringing out the stapler?

Oh the irony.
Most of us could care less. However I think if you held out on the FO bonuses, something better would of had to come. I could be wrong though as the end result of PSA and PDT turning down the FO bonuses has yet to be seen. At least our unions are talking again.

Curiously, I just got cold-called by the Envoy recruiters. They were touting the $15k new-hire bonus. Last time I applied there was when I shotgunned airlineapps in August 2013.

because if you dont show up, parker is going to have to give bonuses to every pilot at all the three w/o's.

I'm not gonna lie, this peaked my interest simply because I want to be DFW based and they told me they would hire me directly into the 175 in DFW. I don't want to be commuting when I go 121. If they end up making MIA the new base for new hires on the 175 then I'll look elsewhere.

Oh the irony.

Difference being we didn't sign anything expecting them, or ask for them.

I don't know where they initially plan to operate them, but the impression I get is that Envoy will eventually be a sole E175 operator and they will fly them out of 3 or 4 bases. Just like PSA will fly CRJ 7/900s out of 3 or 4 bases and PDT will continue to be a small operation flying 145s out of a few bases in the northeast. That seems to be the overall plan near as I can tell.

DFW is the only place new hires are going into the 175. If we got MIA back in the future as a permanent base again, which I doubt, it would go senior anyway because we have so many pilots that still live there and commute to DFW now, since their MIA base closed.
