Because the "compass airplanes" flying for AA are owned by AA. The RAH planes are co-signed by AA. Two different things.
Envoy are getting 2 145 back from Xjet, also bringing 3 back from long term storage. Next year the remaining 13 planes that Xjet has and the 15 that are in TSA will come back slowly. So, not losing many planes anymore. Even the CRJ700 will stay longer than 2016.

Feel sorry for them. They harbor deep hatred for a company/pilot group that is doing well without actually taking concessions, has a quick upgrade, and flies an airplane that is becoming more popular not less. The only thing they can say is "we're taking your ball and going home because we're better than you". Nevermind the fact that they can't point to a single thing that they're better at. Poor guys.

Yeah. That's why I'm laughing so hard. Nevermind the contract in place.
It's AA who owns a bunch of the Compass 175s, not Envoy.
But the title implies that Envoy pilots think of themselves as AA pilots. Hence, "Envoy to retrieve..." (vs. "AA to retrieve...") ...as if Envoy owns them!
I bet at least 1/2 the Envoy pilot group tell people they meet that they fly for American Airlines.
Cracks me up.

For the record I don't think we can staff any more 175s, and I'd rather increase flow than grow. Most of the guys I talk to feel that way.

I apologize if I came off as arrogant. That was not my intention. Hearing other pilots publicly drooling over Compass planes is getting really tiresome. If these pilots could point to a single business case that could make that plausible I would understand. The point of my post was to illustrate that there is no business case.

Time's they are a changin' What's good today might suck tomorrow and what sucked yesterday might be good today.

The majority to flow. Rough guess but maybe 200 or so to other airlines. If this is even true, to use the word "retrieve" is inaccurate. My guess is that they used this word because those planes that went to compass were originally planned to come to envoy, but we had not yet negotiated an acceptable TA. AAG sent the planes to Compass to either strong hand us or because we did not developed the infrastructure to accept the planes in time. That's my understanding anyway

I understand but Compass wasn't one of those carriers. All the aircraft Compass operates were regional growth aircraft from their respective partners.
