Actually, weren't the Protected Pilots granted that in exchange for the then MEC transferring all the ownership rights to their airplanes to AA?

Honest question.

No. The protected pilots came about due to a negotiation between the company and the MEC after AMR informered the MEC that they were transferring ownership of the aircraft to AA. The MEC filed a grievance and rather then go to arbitration, the protected pilot agreement was negotiated. The planes were going to AA with or without the MEC's blessing.

Check your facts Jack.
There are probably 200 "very senior captains," 90% of which have no plans to flow, don't pay attention to the flow and can only guess as to how it works.

His facts are right and your "facts" (or lack thereof) are WRONG.

This right here^^^. After letter 3 expired the flow was dead. The arbitrated award and negotiated flow happened later. I would hazard to guess that Eagle was all for the flow if they thought at the time that it would help rid them of senior pilots. Recruiting issues weren't even on the radar yet.

Negotiation vs Arbitration are too different animals.

The current flow is part of an ARBITRATION. The next group of flows is part of a negotiation between company and the union.

How is the company following the contract these days?

Dude, what about "it's contractual" do you not understand? It's written in stone in the contract. Envoy WILL flow X number of Protected Pilots, etc.

Let me ask you a question? Are you sure the sun is going to come up tomorrow? Then have faith. AAG/ENY management are trustworthy and will honor this contract to the letter.

Just relax. This is supposed to be a "safe space" for Envoy underachievers who can't get hired anywhere else.

LOL contract "written in stone." How long have you been in the industry? Ever hear of LOAs? They are amendments to the contract....Just food for thought. AAG owns you, you are subject to whatever they want.
