Yes. They are already doing it on a trial, word of mouth basis. Not quite $49k, but close to that. I'm hearing rumors that they may roll it out officially for everyone who meets the requirements.

How about they raise the pay for everyone? A 49K bonus plus first year pay is more than many junior captains make. Bullsh*t in my opinion. It's great to get people in the door but if they need captains then raise the pay rates and maybe more current FO's would upgrade instead of bypassing.
