This is true but aren’t all the regionals offering some sort of RTP program?

Quite a few are.

But once you take the money, you are in their debt.

With the delays in the Envoy/Coast program it could be a six to as much as eight month pipeline with zero time guys. While I’m sure they could buy their way out, it is a tough decision to make. You have to have the money and go through the process with your new dream employer. And you have to be able to explain why you are jumping from one ship to another. I know most regionals are trying to hire as many as they can, but most still have some selectivity and might be gun shy of someone who waffles.

That is a sizable chunk.

I hope the prior 121 are ready for the BOHIC and brought their own lube.

Any idea how many are RTP?

Yeah, yeah. We hear that every month. Hiring isn't slowing down, people are still choosing Envoy. Knock it all you want, but the flow is the reason. It certainly isn't pay or work rules.

But either way. They have a sizable hook and it is going to take a while to get this disaster of a ship to change course, let alone turn around.
Most owe the $23k back. With the way Coast rips Envoy off on the cost per flight hour... I came in needing nothing but a multi-engine add-on and some time building. I required less than 99% of the RTP candidates, and my total cost was $24,785.00, of which Envoy only paid for $17,435. The remaining $7,350.00 was my choice to come out of pocket, or use almost the entirety of my GI bill. The GI bill is no longer applicable at Coast, though... I heard it was removed from flight training eligibility for abuse.

My breakdown for that $24,785 was:
  • 15 hours of Cessna "refresher" training with an instructor
  • 15 hours Seminole training for MEL add-on
  • 121 hours of Cessna timebuild
  • 10 hours of Seminole MEL timebuild

Most the guys who are prior-Army and come in with NO quals are going far above my costs to get everything they need. Like, into the $30k or $40k range if they just had absolutely ZERO fixed wing time.

Does anyone audit what Coast is charting in hourly rates from one pilot to the next? Pretty fishy that your cost just happened to come out at basically what the RTP cost pays for or close to. Are they arbitrarily charging different amounts for different students to make sure they invoice for the full amount that Envoy is prepared to put up?

You mean the 8 year flow?

Reading through the pre interview paperwork. It sounds like Envoy provides a standby ticket for those coming from out of town to interview is this correct? What if I have to work the day after

They bring you in positive space. Unless something has changed that is.
