I looked around the manuals but didn’t see anything.
It'll be a MA. They don't care. They'll tell you, "well, I drove to work this morning."

I was given a CP for the east coast blizzard the other week. I was unable to drive. YMMV.

I will say that now that we have the PG protocol that prevents CS from issuing MAs and letting the CPO sort it out, that definitely helps the cause.

CS will put PG, explain to the CP and he will change it to commuter. Usually how it works

Can anyone contemplate when they might run another displacement bid/award?

I had a training date set for 175 CA upgrade, but on this recent mess of a bid, got displaced to the CRJ. (I know much worse happened to others) so that training was canceled and a new training date for the CRJ set for April 1st. I’m only a few seniority numbers below the most junior 175 CA, so I’d think getting the 175 on the next displacement is plausible.

Just don’t feel like filling my head with CRJ stuff because I’d imagine they will run another, or maybe 2, by the time that training even begins.

Probably irrelevant, as I’m sure I’ll get 145 Miami next lol

Did you by chance look at the amount of guys displaced? Let me ask you this, how can the company displace more then what was on the vacancy?

There was 145 captain vacancies posted, but over 200 guys upgraded/displaced..

That's the thing with displacements they have a cascading effect. So those that were in another equipment as CA and displaced to another base or equipment don't count towards the original 145 upgrade slots.

That’s crazy! I think I counted 220 or something along those line.

Blows my mind how that’s ok.. I get the concept I guess.

I wonder what they are going to do on the next bid since we are out of qualified FOs, but yet we are still expanding.

I’m guessing they’ll need at least 280 more captains this year on top of the 220 or so from this bid. There will undoubtedly be FOs trickling across the 1000 hr line, but nowhere near the amount they need. This $45k bonus (that’s somewhat deceptively marketed) is gonna need to attract a lot more than 8 “street captains” per class. A feat which, without significant pay raises, will only be harder now that Endeavor has higher rates (and ATL), RAH may be raising pay, and Spirit has a new contract right around the corner.
