What other parts of FM-1 do you choose to ignore? It’s really not hard to fly the airplane and operate the way we are supposed to.

Only the certain versions of the older Uflymike can be TSOd. The newer one for the QC25 is against company policy.

I’m sure the FAA inspector in the metaphorical jumpseat would have nothing to say about it either. Non TSO headsets are a plain as day violation of FM1 for a reason.
If FAA is in metaphorical Jumpseat wear the DC’s. I’m sure you have violated FM1 before and just didn’t know it.

There's a clear difference between knowingly and unknowingly violating regs.

^^This. I’m glad someone else gets it.

Part of being a professional is doing what you are supposed to be doing when no one is watching. Knowingly violating regs is a slippery slope. Have some respect for yourself and your paying passengers.

Yes, at first it starts out with you deciding to wear your non-TSOd headset, next thing you know you are snorting cocain in the lav mid-flight...slippery slope indeed.

I’m just going with what I read on the uflymic website. I would think they know what they are talking about since they would lose a lot of business otherwise. I was considering it. I ended up buying the QC25s for the commute and sticking with my old DCs for flight. I just don’t like using a headset that may have been anywhere near Hard Lemonade’s mouth. If it’s been even a fourth of the places he’s said, I don’t care how well you clean that mic...

If the other guys do it for GA and it is non TSO’d then go ahead and do it. I don’t know anything about the other systems.

The Qc-15 and Uflymic can be TSO’ed. You have to wear ear buds with them to be legal.
