Ah, too much doom and gloom. All regional's are experiencing similar issues. High attrition, everybody wants to GTFO, uncertain future, can't find fresh blood. Amazingly we've hired 16 in August and 14 in July. Those are like record numbers looking back over the past year. They still have to encourage the fat on the top to move on because this place is way too top heavy and upgrades have to be the longest in the industry.

Also to all, stop trying to recruit me for the sake of you getting a referral bonus. Its pathetic and painfully obvious and most of us here have no desire to work at Endeavor or Skywest. I had an EDV guy try to justify going there over an AA wholly owned because "an interview with Delta is better than a job with AA" LMFAO. This came from the same guy who commuted from another base just so they could fly the mighty 900.

Now I've heard some dumb stuff before, but this ranks right up there. And while his primary motivation was the referral bonus, I'm sure their are plenty of idiots out there that actually believe that statement.

... And we all know that it can't be staffed. Smart pilots don't want to come here for **** QOL on reserve, flying beat up old 50 seaters, with no real growth. My money is on them winding us down after we can't staff the flying we are contracted to do, with no intention of ever having the contract go the full 5 years.

SkyWest, Inc. Announces Order of 25 New Aircraft, New Flying Agreements
- Order includes 15 new Embraer E175 SC 70-seat aircraft expected to be delivered and placed into service with Delta Air Lines in 2018
- Order includes 10 new Embraer E175 76-seat aircraft expected to be delivered and placed into service with Alaska Airlines in 2018
- Terms and economics similar to prior contracts with each partner
ST. GEORGE, Utah, Sept. 6, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- SkyWest, Inc. (NASDAQ: SKYW) ("SkyWest") today reported that it has entered into aircraft purchase agreements and capacity purchase agreements to acquire and fly 15 new aircraft with Delta Air Lines ("Delta") and 10 new aircraft with Alaska Airlines ("Alaska"), of which five aircraft with Alaska were previously discussed. Expected delivery dates of the 25 aircraft run from March 2018 through the end of 2018.
Of the 25 aircraft, 15 Embraer E175 SC aircraft will fly under an agreement with Delta in a 70-seat configuration. The E175 SC aircraft has an E175 airframe and can be retrofitted to 76 seats in the future. The agreement with Alaska includes 10 Embraer E175s, which will be configured with 76 seats, similar to aircraft SkyWest has previously placed into service with Alaska.
Similar structurally to SkyWest's acquisition of 104 E175s, SkyWest expects to invest approximately $90 million in cash to acquire these 25 new aircraft, and to finance the balance of the purchase price with 12-year fixed rate debt. These aircraft will be operated by SkyWest Airlines, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of SkyWest.

Personally, I don't care if it's an old beat up 50 seat jet. As long as it's safe and I'm compensated fairly for operating it. But I'm skeptical on the staffing as well, at least 126 of them. Time will tell.

My prediction is we will be gone within 24 months. Airlines with flow agreements will dominate regional hiring, and places like Skywest won't be able to fill classes. Because of this, after the shutdown, they will either attempt to integrate us or give us preferential interviews, so they can weed out the pro-union rabble-rousers.
