So I'm not on property anymore but uh, let me make sure I got my facts straight here.
Big announcement coming (this time its real) involving XJT and UA. Lets say its new flying for them on the CRJ side. The other rumor is that GoJet loses it's United flying, that's 25 planes. United ALPA sends out this message. MEC update 5/23/18 "Recently, the UAL MEC Alliance and Scope Oversight Committee discovered the Company was not in compliance with the UPA Section 1-C-1 limits on regional jet aircraft. The UPA restricts the Company to no more than 255 aircraft with 70 or 76 seats in the express operation. Specifically, 70-seat aircraft are limited to 102 airframes and 76-seat aircraft are limited to 153 airframes. The violation occurred when United amended one of its UAX agreements adding two additional ERJ-170 (70 seat) aircraft to their fleet. This amendment brought the total number of 70-seat aircraft in the United Express operation to 104, and the total combined 70/76 seat aircraft to 257, thus exceeding the 255 UPA limit. No section of the contract is more important than Scope. The grievance is receiving the full support of the UAL MEC Grievance Committee and ALPA legal. The diligence of the Alliance Committee, which allowed us to discover this violation, is detailed in this grievance filing. As a remedy for this dispute, ALPA has requested the Company cease and desist from violating Section 1 of the UPA, immediately terminate the agreement that led to the violation, provide compensation for the violation, and for any further relief available under the Agreement. We will provide updated information as this case makes its way through the grievance process." Let's say UAL awards the GoJet flying to XJT with the bigger planes. That's 25 planes. That leaves the CRJ side with 25 planes flying. That's the big payoff? That's what people are waiting for? Am I smoking crack if that sounds good to me? Or are the holding out for the big announcement pilots still sticking to the pie in the sky UA buying XJT and everyone flows or some baloney thing? Just trying to follow here what we're all getting excited about. |

It’s about getting out of SkyWest’s control. rumored to become a wholly owned or something like it again, and possibly also merged with another regional or two. Given Kirby’s background and some rumors heard, a flow may also be in the works. Maybe. I think this is more wishful thinking at this point but one can hope. All of that means growth, rather than doom and gloom and shrinkage. It’s a turnaround for the airline. |

Trans States, XJT, Commute Air merge into one company with United owning a minority stake. Just hope they don’t call it SureJet

That does nothing. But to humor the idea of a hypothetical 'merger', imagine the 40-something 25-year XJT captain suddenly junior to a three-year 20-something. Throw in an amalgamation of two ah, 'less-than-stellar' contracts and one quite decent contract, and, well...

United Buying XJT outright does absolutely nothing either. Let’s hope that whatever they come up with (if anything) is beneficial to all pilots involved. It wouldn’t surprise me if there is a consolation of some sort in the works.
