This contract looks like a win for xjt but is still going to struggle getting new hires that they desperately need. Seems all United express carriers are a distant 3rd. Delta and American regional airlines still 1 and 2.

Bingo. I don't see how this fixes XJT's recruiting problems. A steady flow of quality recruits is ultimately the lifeblood of any business, but especially so in an airline.

An IAD base would not surprise me, but it won't be CRJ700s. The 70+ seat aircraft at XJT will likely all be 175s.

I find it humorous that a few SkyWest guys are trying to convince people to vote no on this TA because theirs "is better." ExpressJet had raised the bar continually for the regional industry, but for years they have been shot in the back by the cheaper SkyWest pilot group who grew leaps and bounds while they withered under Inc. control. ExpressJet wanted single list with you to prevent a whipsaw; ExpressJet wanted to help raise your pay and quality of life. The resounding answer from the SkyWest group was no. Now that there is actually a sliver of hope for the ExpressJet side, SkyWest guys come out and encourage a no vote. If anything, ExpressJet should vote yes on the contract. Even if the "contingency" falls through, guess who may have become Inc's cheapest operator and possible landing location of any new flying that comes Inc's way. SkyWest pilots could have prevented this whipsaw by voting in ALPA years ago and gone single list like what was requested. Now you might get a taste of your own medicine. Maybe now you will do the right thing and push for a single list, but maybe it's too late.
Their TA they voted down is not better than this TA. Xjt will not be the cheaper operator. |

That’s rich coming from a Skywest pilot group who has continuously argued for NOT setting the bar because of the fear of not being competitive. Tell me, when was the last time Skywest set the bar? Never... |
