It won't be 90%. Yes, the training is stressful at our age. But once through training, there is not much attraction to going back. Even if a flow were offered by UAL, best case we wouldn't see it for 5+ years. For most of us (50-60 age group), there would be little to no payoff. Even for younger guys who may find this lifestyle is not for them, better to get the 747 type rating and the experience of international flying for their resume than going back to an RJ.

That's funny right there. Having been in the ACMI world for just under a year now, I can guarantee you that even with the disfunctional nature of this sector, very few of us have the desire to ever go back to hauling the trash for an ungrateful mainline "partner". I just spent the day flying around Asia, in my jeans and a T-shirt, with about 4.5 hours of bunk time, two hot meals, and no pax drama. You can keep your 6 leg days and 24 minute turns out of ORD and EWR. That's not even taking into account having to commute again. Even flow doesn't make that garbage appealing anymore (to me, at least).

You forgot a few things. Commute to ORD, 12 days off each month (so now about 9 days off), for guarantee. Garbage four days worth 12 hours. After 20 years. Yeah, I'm all over that.
Anyone who thinks a -175 type or UAL buying XJT will lure me back is on drugs. Ohhh. I know. I get UAL pass benefits for life. Yeah, that worked out swell with DAL.
K4 actually treated us with some respect and gave us a shot. XJT?? Yeah. Not so much. BTW. Who is this "Terry" dude?? Does he really work at XJT? Did he show up to the last ATL flight or was he AWOL again?

Still waiting for Mesa to fall by the wayside? It’s amazing how long these theories stay alive. BIG announcement coming around the corner?

Does anyone learn?

Lots of people with their heads in the sand. Mesa, GoJet, CommutAir, are all going to collapse any day now!

Mesa, GoJet and ExpressJet I could believe.

CommutAir not so much. United has as much of a stake in CommutAir as they will in ExpressJet should a United led buyer group purchase them.

Instructor class for the -175 "delayed". FAs on the ERJ side being furloughed in addition to those already furloughed on the CRJ side. Apparently, new hire pilot classes canceled for the rest of 2018, although I'm not sure they had that many in those classes to begin with. Performance numbers have tanked.
I really am hoping things will turn in the next month for those of you left but it looks pretty grim from this side.

I think it was the December new hire class. But this is APC. Don't believe what you read here. Believe what you are told.
Also, picking ExpressJet is not necessarily a bad thing for you. It's kind of like picking a penny stock. You have very little to lose. If things do turn around, however, you will be on the leading edge of the hiring wave.
