Jan announcement speculation
Out of curiosity, what do you guys think this big announcement will contain? Or will it happen at all?
Also the e175 instructors are in class right now or so I’ve heard.
I believe United is going to buy XJT and turn them into a flow source like AA has done.
-or-
Nothing happens and XJT dies.

Don't know anymore. Union guy I know believes announcements from United will happen after the AA flying is done, and things are being held off until the last minute because they expect the airline that will not be having it's contract renewed will implode.
I think this is wrong for a few reasons: United could at least announce an intention to purchase Xjet, and even go through with it, since they already have an agreement to end the AA flying. Also, they don't want the losing party to implode, but in the meantime Xjet is imploding. It's counter-productive.

And they don’t need a regional with super senior people all around. Flush em out. The United way, give things to the lowest bidder. CommutAir has options for 60 145s, they are still growing. Who needs XJT.

Legality reasons why announcement will not be made until AA flying is complete. UAL had no intentions from the beginning to make any announcement until 2019. Ual will purchase Xjt and Xjt will be what Envoy is to AA. Kirby is calling the shots and he likes that model from when he was at AA... that is his plan going forward. Expect announcement 1st week in Jan. The big 3 will all have wholly owned going forward... UAL was just last to the party! haha
