Long term staffing stability. I’m not talking about cancellation or on time performance, I’m talking about a long term ability to staff and add/maintain capacity. United wants to continue to expand their 50 seat routes but none of their regionals seen to have the staffing to do it.

As much as I hate to admit it, United has increased 50 seat feed in the past three years despite ExpressJet decreasing in size by 2/3s. They did that without owning the majority of any regional. Will it be that easy in the future? I hope not. There’s nothing I’d like more than to see more of my ASA comrades hired at United. It’s discouraging to see XJT management try and string along so many pilots on the false pretense of new flying when history has shown that is not a reasonable expectation.

Unfortunately XJT is considered the new Mesa, I doubt UAL will buy it, more likely to let it die and create a new airline based on 175's with new cheap pilots? XJT and the boys in Atlanta will not recover from the days pf can 200+ flights a day a few years ago based on plan mismanagement, UAL would;d have dropped XJT then if it could have, I don't think there is any love lost!

It's funny to watch you guys cream yourselves over the 175's. They are not coming. How are the proving runs coming along? LOL .Does Mx have the tooling yet? LOL. How many people are in class this month? LOL. Yeah and your suppose to take delivery in April? I know I know but "they promised us"! That is real ritch. United is not buying Xjet! There is nothing to buy. They own nothing, not even those old crappy 145's. . Gojet is going by by as well. Their United 700's are leaving and Delta is going to only have 3 regionals next year.

While everyone is predicting...
I continue to predict that Xjet will be awarded some or all of the Ejets (possibly as low as 10 initially) in January and United will lead an investor group to buy Xjet. United will own 40% and the CPP will continue. A flow will never happen. Xjet management in Atlanta will be replaced or moved to Chicago or Houston.
It will be a benefit to SkyWest’s stock price if Inc can sell Xjet. So, Xjet is sold.
There is a reason a flow will never occur and the senior captains will stay put at Xjet till they retire or go elsewhere. Eventually, Xjet will stabilize and return to its prior state in the industry before Continental sold.
United has focused on their 50 seat capacity with the regionals where they own 40% because that is the only place where they can grow. And, now United can take back their 70 and 76 seat flying - just like American is doing with its wholly owneds.

If they dont attract new hires to their regional swamp, cancellations will continue and customers who drive revenue ( not cheap regional labour) will continue to leave and United will just have to settle with shrinking capacity. So the answer lies in what will it take to attract new hires away from the competition?
