Well. If they hire 600 new FOs this year that time will go down, or at least it will for the first couple hundred new FOs. ....Right?

The proof will be in the pudding. I want a golden toilet seat, but only want to pay $5 for it. Can we compete with a $50k bonus at Gojet with 50 CRJ 550's arriving, or the highest rates at Endeavor, or the flows at AA WO's coupled with a $45k bonus. I think XJT needs to up their game.

yeah your probably not gonna sit reserve long. The next 2 class dates should give you an idea of if people are starting to funnel in. Previous classes seem to have been 5 or less so if you see 10 15+ roll in the next few classes thats a good sign.

The company said in a comm today that apps were up 400% in January and that trend is continuing.

Yep. It was a blip. Regionals have even stopped recruiting from Australia. We have found the flight schools have spun up and pilots are being produced. I predict bonuses will come down over the next year.

Xjet just needs to get their upgrade times down. Assuming planes come on board, for every two net new FO’s, a net new CA is needed. It won’t take long at 25 new FO’s per month, resulting in 12 new CA’s needed per month.

Give Xjet management a chance to see what the impact is of the new hire bonuses and to adjust.

There was never a rumor of a pilot shortage. That’s just what they wanted you to believe. The reality is that there is shortage of pay. Pay goes up, more pilots apply.

That is a shortage by definition. A lack of a good that can not be rectified through pay or other options is a scarcity. A shortage due to market forces is a shortage. For example, there is a scarcity of Californium 252, but there is a shortage of pilots.
