Not sure if anyone knows the answer to this but it’s no secret that new hire classes at AA are largely comprised of ex military and WO flows, with only a small percentage of new hires being true ots applicants. Is the new hire class breakdown similar at United but with the CPP instead of WO flows?
If I had to put (extremely generalized) numbers to the new hire classes at AA, I’ve heard 50% ex military, 40% WO’s, and 10% ots. I wasn’t sure if someone had a better shot at being hired ots at United or if the CPP is still your best shot, similar to the way going to a WO is one’s best shot at AA?

if you are considering a regional based on your chances of making it to UAL or AA be sure to factor in the sucess rate of the CPP. right now it is significantly less than 50% and UAL hires very very few outside of the cpp from regionals that have it.

The CPP has under a 50% success rate.
Keep these factors in mind:
-You need to update airline apps every 90 days (30 is preferred)
-If you get an off the street interview earlier and are accepted into the CPP but bomb that off the street interview, you're out. (Not specified up front, has happened to at least one person).
-If you cancel the CPP interview last minute (emergency not specified) you're out. (Told to people after the fact; too bad so sad)
-F/O's / CA's have been getting the no lately for no apparent reason after the review board (Chief pilots can't figure out why)
-People have not gotten their second crack at the Hogan in over a year
If you live near a PSA base I'd consider them. Many growing pains to come at this airline. United has shown little to no interest in improving moral and benefits to attract the top tier candidates. They think 175's will bring people in. Upgrade times are still way too high with Captains being stuck on reserve for ages.
