While this tactic may cover some flights with people already on property; it does not address the elephant in the room - staffing. They longer they wait the worse this gets. My two last First Officers are leaving for greener pastures.

Well, in most cases, to be above 80 hrs a pilot would have barely 13 days or less days off. So the idea of picking up open time would put many pilots at only 10 or less days. Besides, pilots Can't call sick, it seems extremely restrictive. I would have preferred that the Union had negotiated 200% at company discretion no strings attached. I don't like it as it has been proposed. Who knows, it may work, but I seriously doubt it .
