Ignore him. He’s butthurt Republic didn’t get the 25 E175s.

Expressjet is a good company with a good contract. Unfortunately, Skywest didn’t invest in us and let us whittle away for years. United is turning this place around already but it’s still going to take a lot more work.

The thing is that by the time many realize an airline is the new "IT" airline it's too late. It's like buying a hot stock. If you buy after the analysts are calling it the "hot stock" you missed the greatest growth. You may still get some, but not as much. If you buy when the stock is beaten down you have the chance at great growth without much downside.
Many on this board and others think this is the first regional airline cycle.
I've seen it time and time again. But then I'm told "I've been in this industry a LONG time. Since 2014."

Speaking of cycles, does anyone remember last March. XJT was covering tons of extra flying that others couldn’t. Almost all crews every trip were extended, reassigned or junior manned for the entire month.

Aren't you at Republic, and haven't you been there for a while? Expressjet is literally the opposite of bottom feeder, historically, and Republic IS 100% historically a bottom feeder clown show so please don't kid yourself or anyone on these forums.

Republic, historically speaking is Mesa tier, what has it ever done for the industry besides go bankrupt and then get lucky?

United? Just because United has part ownership in the company doesn’t mean they are fixated on ensuring the success of Expressjet. United has clearly shown in recent years they care more for a diversified regional network so they can continue to award flying to the lowest bidders. I’m sure ExpressJet is no higher on the priority list than any of the other SEVEN regional partners UAL works with.
