Have you seen some of the DB’s at Xjet??? There were a few that I hated flying on trips. So yes I can see the logic.

It's that attitude or line of thinking that United can see right through at the interview and will get you the thanks but no thanks letter quicker than a Clinton witness can commit suicide . Just because you are fly United livery and flying "United Passengers" doesn't mean you get an automatic job offer or preferential status. The CPP is their game. Their rules. Play by them or opt out and apply off the street.

You don't have a clue about why a lifer stays. It has nothing to do with the CPP. Apparently you don't have a clue about why a pilot stays at a regional at all. I guess timing and industry cycles doesn't mean anything to you. Nice attitude by the way.

They're the ones that UA seems to take.

Some made it through but the vast majority of “special” CA’s I knew didn’t make it through.

Big negative. Needs to change, that and better pay. Outsider looking in 🤷*♂️ I think XJT is still a great place.
Upgrade times are always correlated to hiring. A company that is not hiring FOs has no reason to upgrade FOs.

The most recent captain award is a 10/2015 new hire. That is just under 4 years, true enough. The part that isn’t clear is that there are only 200 on the seniority list between that person and a 1/2019 new hire. By comparison there are 230 on the seniority list hired since 1/2019.

In other words for years XJT was shrinking and not hiring, not upgrading. Therefore upgrade times went super high. Now they are in a period of growth. New hires coming in. If there are a lot of new hires coming in there will be a lot of upgrades. It’s common sense. Airlines have to carry slightly more Captains than FOs.

There are lots of scenarios as to how it could play out but in every logical scenario the more people that get hired behind you the faster you upgrade. I challenge anyone to come up with a scenario where this is not true.

If you flown w/those pilots before United told them to pound sand, you would see the logic. How can pilots do their best work for a company that shows no loyalty? It's unsettling to see some of our pilots safeguarding United We need only one voice to speak for our pilots, in contrast, we have a few special pilots and management encouraging United to implement policies that are designed to disrupt our operation impacting customer service. Expresssjet pilots are the frontline employees that determine if flights run on-time, pickup open trips, volunteer to extend duty-times, and run all aspects of providing a safe flight. United proves time and time again they have no appreciation for regional pilots that fly their customers and it shows.

Really? The policies are *designed* to disrupt our operation?

Based on the amount of extra training XJT CPP pilots are needing and the issues on the line I’d say it’s appropriate for United tighten their protocol

Yeah because scrutinizing excused sick calls in addition to unexcused sick calls will definitely cut back on the extra sim sessions needed to get thru training. Genius point. Judging by what happened in EWR, your check airman need some extra training too.
