Not sure where your math came from, but its wrong. It is higher than 15-20%. Some figures are closer to 50%. Any pilot at XJT can look at the numbers going through the seniority list and know for a fact that it is higher than the stuff you spew.

You know things must be pretty bad when we have flight attendant's as pilot recruiters.

I just want to include into this, there was quite a few pilots who couldn't make it and were forced to resign. After 100 hours of OE, there is a point where they are not a fit for flying airliners. Those people are in those numbers. They don't print an accurate idea of why they've left.

desperation to hire = you'll take applicants that nobody else will.
This translates to a huge time suck. They use up 2-3 times as much sim time, instructor time, LCA time, etc. Meanwhile, the training curriculum stretches to 4,5,6 months for everyone. Then, most of these pilots get fired (forced to resign, same thing) and take their ATP, type, and Sheraton points when they leave. Thanks for the free breakfasts!
Higher quality applicants = finish training on time, less work load on sim instructors and LCAs, better overall culture.
