ExpressJet is no different. United went out and bought a flight school instead of offering UAX pilots a flow. Pilots are lined up out the door to go to the AA wholly owns because they have a guaranteed job at American and XJT has parked airplanes due to lack of pilots. People are jumping ship as soon as they get 1,000 hours. Aviate won't be enough to get pilots in the door to XJT going forward. This will ultimately be United's downfall when there are no pilots left to fly their feeder system routes across the board.

Well, TSA and Compass already offer flows to Frontier, so they are going to have to come up with something more appealing, like growth and stability in addition to pay. And maybe real career progression and not this handcuffed flow to F9 that doesn’t allow being hired outside the flow.

Does this DEN rumor still have 175s in the fleet? If those are ‘East Coast planes’ why would they follow westward? Hmm..

If we get DEN I see it being a 145 base UNLESS they move our IAH 175s to DEN. Thats the only way it could work with 25 airplanes. Mesa came in and took our order for the additional 39 175's in 2020. We can't get more 175's unless someone else looses 70 seat flying due to scope. Had we gotten those airplanes I think XJT would have at the very least kept up with their attrition. Now, its back to net losses in pilots. People don't want to come here to fly a 35 year old 145 with no guarantee of a job at United in the future. Aviate is NOT the same thing as the AA flow.

Oh, they were "ours". When United put this little deal together they planned to have 60 175s at XJT by end of 2020.

Laughable! It’s not going to be their DOWNFALL. Besides....there will still be pilots left to fly their feed. UAX is full of lifers and people who don’t yet realize they’re lifers.

Delta is on top, and they don’t have a flow.
UAL is in second place, and haven’t had a flow for years.

American has had flow for YEARS, and they are solidly in third place. That’s for profitability AND most people’s desire to work there.

Really? Where are all these pilots coming from? You do realize there are MANY airlines competing for pilots in a market that will soon have more jobs than pilots right??? Delta is Delta and will always get to cherry pick who they want. American has their flow with their wholly owned companies so that leaves United, Southwest, JetBlue, Spirit, Frontier, Allegiant and now Breeze fighting for the rest. That pool of regional pilots will dry up very quickly over the next 3-5 years. United is not Delta and they have done nothing to secure their pipeline other than buy a flight school. When a 10 year CA at Delta gets a $70,000 profit sharing check every year compared to the same United guys $20,000 profit sharing check, I'd say thats a pretty distant "2nd place ranking."

LoL, you think Envoy, Piedmont and PSA have a lack of desire for pilots to work there??? They have people lined up months out for class dates and those classes are FULL.

Our last two classes had 8 and 7 pilots total per class! What’s your guess on how many show up tmrw?

He was brought up for recall but no one outside of ORD knows anything about it since no LEC180 emails have gone out since his election.
