IAH should not be a problem to get as an FO due to the fact that its just so huge compared to the other bases.

Now it's May or June?? I was originally told February, then found out through the grapevine April or Mayish. Eitherway, I'm chillin out here in the pool. I wish they would keep us new hires in the loop a little better though. I know we're not officially employees until after training, but perhaps they could send out a group e-mail to keep us in the loop.
I'm sure you could shoot an email or phone call to the HR department and inquire about class dates and whats going on with the pool. Just a thought.

Former student of mine just finished his PC and is being sent to IAH. So if you can ever get into class, chances are fair you can bring the Cowboy hat!

I'm going to send an e-mail over to HR after the holidays.

Hope things pick up over there. Hearing these delayed class stories remind me of my own experiences... Had a December class date which was postponed, put back into the pool until the next class was held... don't worry, should be no later than February...ok, now it will be March...May comes around finally, at which point the recruiters tell me to start looking elsewhere. Well to make a long story not as long that class never happened. ACA became Independence and never hired again. Just my bad news, hopefully it is never yours.

That's funny because over 20 of us are stuck in EWR and nobody wants to trade into it. We're stuck for at least 6 months and probably more likely to be a year. Yet new hires keep getting LAX, ONT, or IAH. If you get EWR, you get screwed, since the new hires will get placed at the base you want to go to, instead of you getting it and having them replace you in EWR.

Something to think about for the next contract, I guess. I'm at XJT now, but when I was at PDT, and a new hire class went through, the company would look for the vacancies to which to send these new hires. Once these vacancies were found, they were opened up to the pilot group based on seniority. The new hires got what was left.

How does this work? Why don't newhires go to the junior domicile (like everywhere else). When will you be able to bid back to LAX or ONT? What is the process?
