I'm saying if you rewind them and put them back into the regionals right now, they would be doing the same. I would have gladly flown twins and suffered through a pt135 op flying if I knew that a job at AA or UA was waiting for me. But now things are different, and RJs are taking over. Along with the decades of low union mandated regional pay, that is not our fault.

I would't blame the unions for the low wages. Contract flying and a perpetual surplus of pilots is probably the bigger cause. Pilot unions got bypassed by allowing other groups to bid for the same work. If all airlines were under one union (not individual MECs under the banner of ALPA, for instance) then collective bargaining would actually work. However clever management have utilized the RLA to basically eliminate any power a unionized labor force has at setting higher pay.

Granted the airlines would look a lot different if there were no unions but I think the pay would probably still be low and we'd be missing out on a lot of the other good that unions bring to aviation.

We definitely do need the unions considering we are labor.

A "union" like the one you're a part of over at GJ?

A union, that, by the way, has not filed a single grievance on behalf of their pilot group.

My contract is better than your contract.

Your regional is a bottom-feeding regional. Mine isn’t.

It’s your fault why I make so little.

It’s the unions fault why my pay sucks.

You’re stealing my flying.

Every regional pilot has SJS.

Way to hijack a legitimate, good, informational thread. Those people know who they are.

Okay, your contract is better than another regional’s. Let’s hypothetically assume that you are correct. Who cares? Are you satisfied? Can you walk with your nose high up in the air through the terminal now?

Same *******, different thread here on APC. I am getting sick and tired of good threads attracting the drama queens with there pointless debates.

coming from a former Colgan guy, this post is hysterical.

As far as a CPA w/ United is concerned until we see a signed agreement and press release, there is little to discuss. Stay tuned though, the future could bare some good news...........

Also if something is signed in the future with UAL, you can expect that it will be more than just one airline signing a CPA.

And if there is a press release that has that news, you'll be able to read about it on Delta's website first. They'll be "pleased to announce" it.

You won't hear it from XJT's management, or the MEC. Although the MEC will ACTUALLY address the pilot group before the company does.
