I look at deadhead pay as the opportunity cost of not using my time more productively. I could be flying making full pay, but in this case I'm still on duty riding around in the back of the aircraft making less. FUPM.

It's not that much difference in pay between Express and Pinnacle. I'm also an 5 year FO and my Gross so far is just shy of $60K. with a YTD Projected at 850 hrs. Which still gives me 18-19 days off a month. This doesn't factor in the $9,000 in per diem this year for TDY.
Edit: Just talked to a friend, and I guess you could have done a lot of those out and back overnights of 2-3 hours and got paid 16. Good on ya.

It's having good work rules. $ per hours doesn't mean much if you don't have good work rules. When you're in the top 3% in any base you can work the system well

Come on gang... 9E/9L/XJ is not looking like it's the best bet at the moment.
To the OP, living in base or having an easy one leg commute to domicile makes a world of difference. The contracts with their rates and soft pay are in the same ball park for now (they're regionals, they all suck...especially for FOs). Good to see you're making an effort to make an informed/educated decision, my $.02...stay away from PinnaColAba for a while.
