I really would love to make the jump to XJet if I could hold DEN, but not interested in commuting. I really would appreciate any input or guesses as to how junior or senior DEN will be, and if there is any chance a new hire could hold it? Thanks

Sorry to give you a bad news, but don't plan on getting DEN base out of training. This is going to be a very senior base. Right now it looks like 2007 hire FOs are gonna be sitting reserve there. I'm Feb.2011 hire and probably wouldn't be able to hold it at all (not even trying since I can comfortably hold a line in any other base). It may all change since the bidding is not over and some 6+ year senior FOs may get to their senses and realize that commuting to a reserve as a senior FO is rather stupid and will change their bids. Regardless, don't count on it. What you can count on is MCI being a very junior base with very little interenst and I can imagine an easy commute from DEN. Good luck!

You also never know. When I was hired in 2007 we all thought we would be headed out west but I managed IAH with 4 other classmates.

That's concerning the last system bid (13-08) that came out in March after the upgrades and hiring annoucement. If you didn't change your base it does not concern you.

Ok...I gotcha. I got the system bids mixed up. Still can't find where it says specifically when this latest bid with the new bases closes.

No, September bid period. No, the only new base that went senior was DEN.

Junior=MCI,IAD,EWR(probably in that order, but any new hire will be able to get any one of the three right out of training)
Not so Junior=CLE,IAH,ORD(getting one of these three will take a little bit of time, but should be doable in 6-12 months, if not sooner)
Ridiculously Senior=DEN(while it will change, the most junior pilot in the original bid was a 2007 hire)

Thank you for the information. How firm do you think they are on the 100 hours in the last 12. Flying out of my own pocket now to keep current....
