Default Oral Exam

Can someone comment on the degree of difficulty of the oral exam at the conclusion of ground school. Is it mostly aimed toward memory items/limitations or more heavily on systems?
Also....what happens if you are unsuccessful on the oral? Thanks.

Will they let you park an old Winnebago in the parking lot during training? Seems like it would be a lot cheaper than two months in a hotel room. Plus you would have some wheels to get you around.

Dude - talk to your roommate. See if he will split the cost with you for another room, since he will also benefit. Then, talk to the hotel about getting another room under the company contact.

No airline pays retail for hotel rooms. They are deeply discounted. You might be pleasantly surprised at how cheap it becomes.

I left roommates behind in college and the military. There's no freaking way that I'd have a total stranger as a roommate for two months. Aren't we supposed to be professionals? This isn't a YMCA camp.

The holiday inn isn't that bad. I never had a problem with mold. My sim partner was a female so I picked out and got my own room. They tried putting guys from other classes in the same room as me but with early or late sim and ftd lessons that didn't work out. The holiday inn gives free apps and beer wine etc...at 5pm or at least they used too. I didn't have a car and just gave some guys gas money to take me to the store.
As far as the oral it is all of the limitations and memory items. Just know them cold and you'll be fine. Should you not do well there will be another chance. We desperately need pilots so I'm sure if you do your part and play well with others you'll be fine. Good luck see you on the line!

The company pays for the accommodations and you get per diem. The Holiday Inn isn't the nicest. There is a chance for your own room if you're roommate doesn't show or you're the odd man out.

Can you just tell the company to book you a private room and you will pay the difference? I mean, they are paying probably $40 bucks or so a night for a holiday inn. That time 60 days is around $2400 bucks. It's only a one time expense.

So a lousy hotel room AND you get to share it with someone? No thanks.
