2 started CRJ training in Atlanta yesterday. That's shady, they told us no CRJ class for the 19th class. We're all in IAH for the jungle jet. Little bit of a bait and switch. Of course the instructors didn't even know we were told we'd have options on arrival and then surprise! Now we can only wait till we can bid over to the CRJ. |

I just heard something similar...that SkyWest was approaching the pilot group to reduce pay to increase profitability. If this is true, then it must be XJT draining the SkyWest bank account, and eventually, only one will survive...Who knows though...It's anyone's guess and definitely the stronger CEO's desire more money...

I know! Which is what surprised me about this call. Skywest has been the leading airline for United and Delta and now I'm certain they are the leading for Airways and American. But, at the same time, this does not come as a surprise, especially with the way Delta has been "trimming the fat" at other such as Endevour, or Pinnacle (whatever their name is), and equally how AA has done with Eagle. I don't know, its all numbers and speculation. But who knows.

Newb question but if Skywest is making all the money and pilots are super happy over there, why don't they (SKW inc) just make Expressjet more aligned with how Skywest operates? Or would that be a concession?

Im sure it would be a concession. After all, XJT is union and SKW is not. XJT wouldnt want that anyways, because the union is there after all, to protect the pilots. SKW has all the power and all the control. They theoretically, are the fat kid with the magnifying glass over the ant hill...When I was there though, it was a great experience and a great company to work for and with. They always seemed to want to help you, but the longer you were there, the more they took advantage.
