It is appalling that some of this garbage that is taking the ERJ side backwards is actually a step forward for the CRJ side. Overall, this whole thing is a slap in the face for us all. You have to look at everyone here. It is a definite NO

This is totall BS
A pilot on a layover who is away from his hotel for an extended period of time will check for messages periodically or arrange an alternate method of contact. |
I think we need to see how FAR 117 affects our soft time and quality of life for a couple of months before we even think about making a decision. It's a no from me as is though. (LASA)

Just observing from the sidelines, however when you entered this industry were they paying from the time you clock in to the time you clock out? Why accept a job in a field that has NEVER paid in the manner you wish to be paid? In reality you are paid per diem from the time you check in to check out. Your "large" hourly rate is for piloting not planning.
Honestly, I didn't realize the pay system of the airlines until after I spent $90,000 on training and college. Looking at it now though, I compare my pay to a Nurse. Fair? Depends on who you talk to. Should I get paid as much as a doctor? I'm flying a 20 million dollar airplane with 70 something lives in my hand. As an FO, I prefer the Nurse route of comparison. Median pay for a Nurse is $56,000 a year. Something around 30 bucks an hour, 40 hours a week. Kind of like a 4-day, eh? My 3rd year as an Airline Pilot I'm going to make $38,000. Personally, I do not agree with it. Every pay period I have several hours of pay from Duty Rigs which they are trying to take away. So, what does a man do? Fight for what he believes in. If I was employed at Delta or some other major, obviously I would be happy with 3rd year pay. So in my eyes, We deserve more, not less. I might be the only regional airline pilot that thinks we do not get paid enough, but so be it. |

If you entered the industry under the misunderstanding of the pay ans benefits that's really a shame.......the pilot shortage is just around the corner, or so I hear. When that happens you can name your own price I suppose  |
I'm on the LASA side, and I am 100% looking at a yes after reading the TA. Yes I will be voting no on it.

.......Lol

I'm not arguing the amount you are paid. Just that the method of payment has been traditionally the block out to block in with rig adjustments. Not sure there has ever been a pay method you want.

The JNC blast mail that just went out is flat out insulting.
The bullet points conveniently leave out the concessions, hmmm.... I suppose they think we are stupid. Incredible. |

The bullet points conveniently leave out the concessions, hmmm.... I suppose they think we are stupid. Incredible. The scheduling section was developed with multiple drivers in mind. One of them was to improve our operational performance, which has suffered significantly over the past two years. Whereas ExpressJet was once considered among the most respected and dependable fee-for-departure carriers in the industry, our operational performance had suffered to the point that existing CPAs were threatened and any future CPAs were unlikely. The existing language of the L-XJT Contract 2004, which was crafted under the circumstance of that era, proved to be burdensome under the realities of 2013. The ability to demonstrate operational flexibility placed competing regional carriers at a significant operational advantage over ExpressJet. Therefore, the language reflects a balance between operational flexibility of the Company and protecting the pilots’ quality of life and time scheduled away from work. The parts I read had very little concern to the pilots QOL and were very concerned with operational flexibility. |
