If this place can get lots of new hires and the fleet plan remains stable, upgrade would go down to 2011 hires pretty quick.

The 50 seaters will be around a while but everything good that could happen about the ERJ side is massively dependent on new hires coming in behind you.
The big problem at XJT is the lack of growth, and all the shrinkage. That's the big problem that is helping keeping new hires away. If you guys got some good growth, it would help create movement and spur upgrades. And also new hires.

Beyond that I wanted to protect the office for which I worked. That said, I seen first hand how management was running the company in a downward spiral and I chose to get out while there was pic offers.

I didn't just have and offer there, but that is the best chance of getting left seat time as quick as possible. Even if I get one hour of left seat time it will be more then I will get this year at ASA... You are correct though, I shouldn't have posted anything, I just wanted to lay out the truth for some people about their career progression before the door hit me in the ass. I shouldn't have ever told anyone I was going or were I was going. The pushback and blatant disregard to civility has been amazing. I have had people I don't know call me an idiot on the line, albeit they have all been captains. I've even had you call me out on an anonymous message board.

The regionals are shrinking. It is the truth, you and I both know it. Regionals are just stepping stones, they aren't designed to be careers. After a decade I resigned to the fact that I might not get an important part of the puzzle and that it was hurting my career. So I decided to leave, not to spite my colleagues, or to cause harm to my friends, but to get myself to the next step and help my family. I chose to ignore the increase in pay and focus on one line in my logbook.

By hoping that I'm relegated to the right seat you are wishing harm on me for making a choice. I find that sad. While I understand that my frustration with not getting pic hasn't been pretty, I don't wish harm on anyone at XJT. Only the best. I didn't post for years, there were reasons. More then likely this is my last post on this forum. Good luck to all of you.

BTW since you know me, feel free to call me at any time to discuss whatever you want, that way you can leave the personal level off the message boards.
I understand your reasons for leaving. I understand watching a company start to fall apart around you. I watched happen at Pinnacle while I was there. I also understand the feeling of some regret of leaving after some time has passed. Looking at my decision to leave 9E is hard. I would be upgrading their this summer/fall, but the information I had at the time told me to leave. Hind sights 20/20.

I never once said that I hope your relegated to the right seat. I said I hope that that isn't true. I don't wish you any ill will. I just don't like guys trying to damage my career by coming on here with what amounts to an opinion. You know as well as I do that everything at this company hinges on getting new hires through the front door. This place could turn around in an instant if the new hires show up. But then you come on here and start spouting doom and gloom like you've been doing in the office. Are things difficult here at the moment? Yes. Are things difficult for most regionals? Yes. We badly need new hires.

I truly hope that this works for you and I wish you all the best. Hopefully in a few years we will both be at mainline. Good luck.

Everyone I know leaving to go to mainline has 0 PIC. Stop whining over upgrading fast. It's unnecessary. Find a good stable contract. Get some experience, enjoy good contract and QOL. and apply to mainline. We will all be at mainline within 5 years anyway.

From the GoJet thread I saw this interesting post...

Many of you may be wondering if we will open a DTW crew base to accommodate our DTW flying, but at this point, it’s simply too early to tell. If we do open a DTW crew base, it will have no effect on our RDU crew base. Our RDU crew base is essential to our East Coast operation, and we have no plans to eliminate it."
So basically if I understand this correctly and with mainline announcing their DTW domicile, we got a good shot of having no DTW base in the next bunch of months here.

I think our management knows that it wouldn't be a good thing if they closed DTW. I think a lot of our DTW F/O's wouldn't hesitate to go to another regional if they did that.

Biggest load of horse-shizzle I've heard in a while. Majority of mainline new-hires have TPIC. Telling people to come to xjet because it's "stable". ***? Where have you had your head buried the last few years?

Why any relatively junior FO with aspirations of upgrading would stay at XJT is beyond me. Left for C5 in Jan after 4.5 years. They handed me a $15,000 check, an immediate upgrade out of ground school, commuter hotels and the CPP (which anyone in now will go to UA in <2 years).

What has XJT done for you lately?

No matter how you spin it, truth is that 12/31/2017 is XJTs last day of existence on paper.

Outside of being a scab, I commend anyone for doing what's best for them to advance their career. Sometimes that includes making pretty tough choices and short term sacrifices in order to achieve long term gain.

Be aware:

Company is now placing new hires. You do not get to choose CRJ or ERJ anymore.

Says the biggest piece of poop we had in the ERJ side. Didn't you quit Xjet before you were fired?
