I'm sure the Feds would like to hear all about THAT modification

If you run the chiller on the 767 you will go deaf. The noise is so loud most crews leave the chiller off instead of going deaf. You will need earplug or ANR headsets if you leave the chiller on.

So, is it the chiller that's loud on the 767?

Last time I tried using the hot mic on the MD, the jumpseaters were all woken up. Do our other jets not channel the hot mic thru the jumpseater area?

That was the standard on the 74 at Atlas. It’s nice to actually hear what the other person is saying, when compared to yelling at each other.

Airbus has a switch on the pedestal to select the Jumpseat area or not.

Because Airbus builds planes for the pilots. Boeing builds planes for engineers, pilots be damned.

An intercom cutout for the Jumpseat area is evidence that Airbus builds planes for pilots? Guess I haven’t missed much. 🤔

Having flown both, I would beg to disagree with you. I think you have it totally backwards.

Default QC-15 and U FLY MIke

On the MD I used the Bose QC-15 and U fly Mike, I paid extra for the TSO stamp just to keep some anal LCA or fed off my back, neither happened. I Uncovered the ear facing the other guy and normally took it off above FL180. International flying I considered it essential for understanding the controllers. Money well spent.
Handy to have the Bose for all the deadheads.
