This should be thread should be retitled..."eat your own"

Unimpressed with these stories and do not represent the younger pilots I encounter every day. We have the highest mins to get hired in the industry, we DO have line pilots screening new hire applicants. The new hires I fly with have been second to none, and they seem to be proud to be a FedEx pilot.

I debrief more Captains worried about the printer paper being torn with the approved paper tearing apparatus to its smallest size, micromanaging the flight deck than I care to count. I could give 2 sh!ts on how skinny your pants are. We are really good at treating our new hires like Second Lieutenants, straight out of basic pilot training.

Back to your regularly scheduled reply of bitterness, self centered narcissist rants...and flaming of your fellow FedEx pilots.

To be fair, who the hell does that? "Hey, you want the approach checklist?" "I'm ready for the approach check when you've got a second." Pretty simple stuff, no need to be a dick about it. If the guy is consistently so far behind that the captain is frustrated enough that he feels the urge to start smacking him with stuff, then he should probably just get the FO called off the trip.

Obviously a checklist isn't going to hurt anyone, FO overreacted with the ridiculous complaint, but it speaks volumes about the type of CA.

This is it, boys. I don't want to live in Clown World. It's just not funny anymore.
So your other stories are kind of funny and demonstrate the snowflake mentality (if they happened as stated), but this one? The issue seems like you didn't like her haircut, her jacket, and the fact that she wasn't chatting with you three old guys?

Who's the snowflake here? Sounds like you.

I think this speaks volumes about you. What a shining example of leadership...good thing you filed a complaint on the pilot. As you stand around bullsh!tting about you and your escapades on the layover, you see the 4th member of your crew and rather than bring them into the group and include them or form a team you stand there making cracks at her hair cut. Way to take care of your crew. Way to go mentoring and looking out for others.

I see you had no complaints on their performance on the flight deck.
I try not to judge others but you come across a a class a prick.

The fact that this thread was even started is all you need to know about the original poster.

Our current management team also has no desire to create a mentoring program of any type. We are behind the 8 ball already having hired so many in such a short amount of time. Mentor programs have proven effective at other places and help set reasonable expectations of the new hire and for the new hire. Good for all, not something management seems to be wanting.

I heard the story of a 767 Captain that had issue with which of the two laminated checklist the FO used. Where do we get these old dudes (from a semi old dude)?

This job is just too easy. Why does everyone, young and old, try to make it difficult?

Nah, it's not everyone, it's just a few....not age dependent.
