Quickest off reserve would probably be the 75

Ok. What about the MD which I heard is severely undermanned in the right seat?

People hired early 19 are still on reserve on the MD. It’s also a dying fleet (slowly). You’d be seat locked for two years and you’d stay very junior for those two years. Do it if you feel like you need the type rating otherwise I’d stay away if your goal is to be off reserve.

Generally at the airlines the growing fleet is the place to be. The MD is a badass jet but being junior forever isn’t fun. But at the end of the day that won’t be the last plane you fly at FedEx and it will most likely be a short stop.

Anybody have an idea where the pool stands and when they might start interviewing again?

The last of the pool got class dates in October. The 1st interviews were held the week of August 24th. Some hired that week got Oct dates. The rest are waiting for the call into a Nov or Dec class.
