It is necessary because China is expanding their military power into the South China Sea and intimidating our allies. China limits our access to their markets while dumping their products on our markets to destroy out manufacturing base. Your idea of a trade war is bizarre, if you think Trump is engaging in warfare by putting Tariffs on Chinese products than it is only logical that China has been waging trade war against us for 30 years by putting tariffs on our products. If we don’t challenge China we might as well surrender to China, like Joe Biden.

I’m not disputing what you’re saying, however we can’t say that there is not a trade war going on and that it’s having a negative impact on the global economy. Should I listen to a farmer or FW Smith?

If that language is English, it’s not going well.

Well the Co-founder of Home Depot is pretty smart also and he thinks the trade war needs to be fought. Short term pain for long term gain.

For some reason our past leaders have felt some guilt for our prosperity and negotiated trade deals that were grossly favored for the other countries. This cost all of us tremendous wealth through the decades.

Are you aware of all the other trade deals that have been changed in our favor in the last 2 years? No one in the world produces food as well and in such volume as this country. Food prices are about to rise due to the spring weather. This may be the best year to ever wage a trade war with China.

You, like so many others in our country now, have no stomach for a little self sacrifice to better our country. Folks were actually crying because there would be no avocados for goodness sake! Much like global coolwarmchange, it didn't happen.

Relax, and focus on more important things in your life.

It is now or later with China. Had a chance in the 50s and did nothing. I am tired of kicking the can down the road for our kids. Sucks for us right now as FedEx pilots and hope like hell Fedex can weather this storm...
