We will; it is still a global market place now and in the future, just fighting for a more level playing field.

I hope so too, too late for them to screw too much with my career, I am amazed at the guys who think China dumping products in the US is ok as long as the consumer gets a better price. Wait until China comes after their job.

Same boat, statement right on the money!! Although I am worried for my kids. Whoever thinks such a large trade imbalance is OK and what it’s implications are for our economic society truly has no clue!! Although had opportunity to go Purple last year and chose otherwise, I only want the best for my purple friends and our duopoly has worked very well over the last couple of decades!! I hope both of our leadership teams have the cojones to stand up to the Amazon cancer, who only wants to destroy our industry, race to the bottom. UPS/Amazon relationship reminds me of sleeping with the enemy or keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Fred chose clean break, paying the short term price, but taking long term view. Time will tell what the UPS approach will bear.

Our Purple friends will be just fine, just a little short term pain.

Last communication from Rob Fisher said some fleets will be “rebalanced” and that this will ultimately affect the training plan ... thoughts? Some captains won’t be getting those slots perhaps ? Or some of those junior captains may be losing those fresh upgrades ? Not quite sure ... there’s probably going to be another bid with some negative numbers on it ... thoughts ?

I suspect it will be more of the 76/77 training slots will be assigned to guys bumped off the bus/MD instead of their current plan of mostly new hires. Probably not much of a captain shake up, but of course the junior Captains in a Wide Body could be a rough ride. They really don’t want to down grade anyone though, too many training slots. They really are their own worst enemies with these annual bids. It doesn’t have to be this hard.

New kids on the block get ready , when its not going as promised to Wallstreet , things will change quick around here , this is not the end of Fedex as we know it but dont fool yourselves , there will be drastic measures taken to avert a loss of position in the markets, the company has to realize that it is not the high paid Execs that are making the company successful in years past , rather it is the Hourly and Salaried employees who make any company great and competitive in the market place , Fedex is a costly service but justifiably so as long as it keeps itself competitive and hungry to keep its clientele.........I was here at 4A2B , it sucked being at 50 hours BLG while other airframes saw tremendous BLG increases for no apparent reason but no one was laid off , remember that !!!

This would be a great time for FedEx pilots to review the bid award process again. It is my understanding that if they show an excess of pilots in a seat, then a senior pilot in that seat can exercise their seniority to move to any seat that has a junior pilot on it, even if there isn't availability. That move can cause an excess in the seat that was just awarded, possibly causing a pilot to be excessed out of that seat.

So, even if they don't post an overmanning in a captains seat, or any other seat, it doesn't mean that an excess couldn't occur in that seat.

These kind of bids are great for senior FOs who have not moved. Last one of these in 08 I lost about 150 numbers in seniority my seat. One of the main reasons to come here, fast tract to capt or senior WB FO might be coming to an end. We apparently for ppl already waiting for JAN classes.

Biggest difference and possibly a saving grace = Hundreds of Retirements and A/C Deliveries (18-76's & 2-777's in 2020 alone) still scheduled.
